MOOSUN GO-KART TORQUE CONVERTER CVT CLUTCH

This is a quality after-market reproduction of the Comet-made TAV2 Torque Converter kit, designed for use on go-karts, mini-bikes, and wake wrenches with engine sizes ranging from 2HP to 8HP. It is a must-have for live axle go-karts, especially those with rear tires larger than 16" tall, as a centrifugal clutch may not be able to handle the demands.

For your convenience, this kit comes with both a 12-tooth sprocket for #35 chain and a 10-tooth sprocket for #40/41/420 chain. It is fully compatible with Comet and TAV2 torque converters, which are widely used in lawn equipment, small tractors, karts, miniature bicycles and choppers, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, water skis, CVT gearboxes, golf carts, snowmobiles, ATVs, industrial equipment, and winches.

The important parts have been pre-assembled. The specifications are as follows: Material - Iron & Aluminum; Drive clutch bore - 3/4" (19mm); Driven unit diameter - 6" (5/8" driven pulley); Sprocket teeth - 10 for #40/41/420 chain and 12 for #35 chain; Engagement range - 2350±200 RPM; Recommended engine size - 2HP-8HP; Belt type - Asymmetrical.

This torque converter kit includes: 1 x Drive Belt, 1 x Plastic Cover, 1 x 3/4" Driver Pulley, 1 x 5/8" Driven Pulley (6" Diameter), 1 x Aluminum Mounting Plate, 1 x 10 Tooth Sprocket for #40 #41 Chain, 1 x 12 Tooth Sprocket for #35 Chain, and 1 x Mounting Hardware Kit. It replaces several Comet and TAV2 OEM part numbers.

Important notes: The center-to-center spacing for the driver and driven pulley needs to be between 6 5/8 inch and 6 11/16 inch. The 2 1/2° angle (flat side) of the belt must be against the 2 1/2° angle pulley flange, next to the engine. The belt should be straight in the sheaves when the torque converter (driver-driven and belt) is mounted on parallel shafts, and the system is in the low (neutral or idle) position. Off-road karts work best with two-wheel drive, as a live axle provides improved traction in sand or loose dirt compared to a single-wheel setup.

Torque converters offer several advantages over centrifugal clutches, including better acceleration from a standstill and the ability to gear the kart for higher top speeds. They act as a simple automatic transmission, with a low gear for climbing hills and a high gear for top speed, making them well-suited for stop-and-go riding.
